Winter
Without a doubt, in winter, skiing is king in the Val Pusteria. The
Kronplatz, with its spectacular range of slopes and modern lifts, is not known as
South Tyrol’s number one skiing mountain for nothing. Never fear! Be it for tobogganing, snowboarding or hockey, "poeckel" riding (riding on a kind of “sit-on” ski), snowshoe walking or winter hiking, at the coldest time of the year the holiday region's programs of activities knows no bounds! And
cross-country skiing fans staying at the Tannenhof have plenty of reasons to be cheerful too, as the entrance to the cross country track is just in front of our
hotel in Riscone.
Away from the perfectly groomed slopes and tracks, there’s sociable après-ski and the magic of the enjoyable
Brunico Christmas Market where guests can linger for a while. Hiking lovers can indulge their passion in winter too:
back country skiing and snowshoe walking are as popular and well catered for as never before – we will be pleased to tell you about the best destinations in the
Val Pusteria.
So, come and discover the unique charm of this special time of the year for yourself and experience winter at its absolute best…
